Saturday night we went to the Dave Matthews Band concert, it was the first DMB concert I had ever been too. After seeing them live I agree with the well known fact that seeing them live changes how you feel about the band.
Dave himself was good, but the violinist and saxaphonist blew me away. They each did a couple long solos and holy cow…those men are talented.
We didn’t stay for the encore because MSU was tied up with Notre Dame and we had to see the end of the game! So we ran across the street to Mullens just in time to see MSU’s gloriously defeat the Irish…GO STATE!
On a much sadder note, everyone found out this week that a young Lebanese immigrant was planning to bomb the bars just outside of Wrigley Field as the crowds were leaving the concert on Saturday night. Thank God he did not carry out his plan succesfuly, Thank God our government and FBI trailed him the entire time he plotted to bomb mass crowds, set off car explosions, poison the water supply, and “totally f*** Chicago” -his words”.
This is disgusting and pathetic to me. His plan was to undermine the Chicago government and Mayor Daley’s supporters with violent acts against Chicago’s residents. You have a venue here to express yourself, it’s called freedom of speech. Write to a news source, start a blog, hand out flyers, express your opinions without reprocussion if you want to see change be made. Secretly planting bombs and sneaking off is not going to change politics. It is not going to make anyone respect what you have to say. I hope he goes to jail for the rest of his life where he can ponder these things.

I was there Friday! Great show! Although I’m pretty mad I missed most of Jason Mraz because of traffic.
