I have about 30 pages left in this book and have been looking forward to my train ride home all day so I can finish it.
I have a love/hate relationship with the end of a really good book. I want to devour it but I also wish it would never end. Around the last 50 pages I start to wonder if I will be able to find a book this good to read next. And how my next book has a lot to live up to, so I better start researching books before it ends so I can pick up another one the very next day.
On a slightly seperate note - this person whom I work with often comes over to my desk and picks up the books I am currently reading. He is one of those ‘I am so smart’ kind of people and he always scoffs at whatever it is I have. In this case he read the back and said “Mmhmm, typical. This is the type of book I would expect to find on your desk.”
I took great offense to that because A. This book is awesome and B. What the H?! I made some comment about how that is the type of thing I would expect him to say and I couldn’t believe he had never heard of it. It was a little I’m rubber your glue but common! Why stick your nose up at a book that he could probably learn a thing or two from.
That is all.
Don’t make fun of my books.
