The joys of unemployment

This article came out awhile ago (when I was still working on Doom Island) about how it is widely believed that a long with layoffs comes depression and low self esteem, but through some research it was found that the “laid off are better off”.

I believe this to be true and during my layoff I’ve been the happiest I have felt in a long time. I was given the opportunity to start from scratch, and find my dream job.

I was also given some free time. A lot of it. And I realize that in my adult life it is going to be quite a long while until I have time like this on my hands again.

I can’t wait to go back to work and find something that makes me happy each day, but I am soaking in every minute of my time off.

So far today this was my schedule:

7:30 - got out of bed and turned on the news. Checked emails.

8:30 - called a few job placement agencies and recruiters.

9:00  - went to the gym and got in a really good workout

10:00 - cleaned up the apartment

10:30 - put in Gone with the Wind and job hunted for a good 4 hours.

2:30 - Youtubed how to curl my hair with a straightener, then did it. It looks okay but I need more practice!

3:00 - Searched some networking groups online. Found a couple events to attend next week.

4:00 - Started tumbling..and here we are

I am excited to get back to some social interaction in an office, but really, how could I complain about a day like this?
